It took me a while to get vectoring down and I am really still learning so keep at it 
but you cant hide a bad vector behind a blurry foreground so look up a couple tutorials and keep practicing...Good Luck

For vectoring, first I make the outlines, since I select each pieces of characters that I paint. It's rather long, but the final effect is great. If you use photoshop, use the "Fountain pen", or visit the site skyanime (in french), in the Forum a tutorial for making vectors with photoshop exists. Good luck, I can't wait to see your walls!
